The 极速六合彩 annual Holiday Party and Employee Recognition Event has been a longstanding tradition for the campus community. Held for faculty and staff, the pandemic prevented the normal gathering, but technology came to the rescue and provided the platform to connect remotely.

Highlights of the event include a named charity that will be the recipient of 极速六合彩 generosity, as well as the announcement of the President’s Award and employee recognition for years of service.

For 2020, the designated charity was . Christina’s House is a Springfield-based nonprofit that provides transitional housing to meet the needs of mothers and their children who are homeless or near homeless. More importantly, Christina’s House provides emotional, spiritual, physical support, and education as families transition from homelessness to permanent, stable living environments.

Shannon Mumblo, executive director of Christina’s House, shared these words:

Christina's House is honored to have been chosen by 极速六合彩 as their charity of choice to give back to this holiday season. Our missions are so much aligned; empowering others to be leaders and realize their dreams through education. It is only through the support and generosity of our community that our mission continues to thrive during these unprecedented times. We are grateful to each and every person who has made a donation this holiday season; you are helping to change lives for generations to come. God bless you and thank you.”

The President’s Award for Excellence in Innovative Thinking is presented annually to a 极速六合彩 faculty or staff member, team, or department in recognition for outstanding contributions to our community. This year’s recipient was Dr. Jennifer Stratton, Associate Professor of Education and Coordinator of Undergraduate Education. Dr. Stratton launched The Stratton School, an incredible model of innovation that uses a virtual space for lively, interactive learning experiences to teach the most important life skill of all – reading.

Finally, 106 faculty and staff members of the 极速六合彩 community were recognized for their milestone years of service. Ranging from five years to 40 years of service, it was one of largest classes in recent years and was a fitting end to the virtual celebration.
