Applied Behavior Analysis Curriculum

The graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) fulfills both the coursework and supervision requirements necessary to pursue certification in ABA. It is designed to be completed in either 7 or 8 semesters (approximately 25 - 28 months). This program includes a carefully crafted curriculum sequence, with coursework aligned with BACB® coursework requirements (2027). Coursework is connected with a supervised fieldwork experience provided by 极速六合彩 ABA Supervisors. Supervision at 极速六合彩 provides 100 hours of supervision (minimally) during the accrual of 2,000 supervised independent fieldwork hours, with opportunities to complete all required supervision activities necessary to meet BACB® fieldwork standards.

Program Concentrations

  BCBA® and BCBA-D® certificants often assume supervisory and management roles in schools, health care organizations, insurance-funded clinical organizations, privately run consultation services, and adult service organizations. For these BCBAs®, employee/ business management and supervision skills are critical. This program and concentration require the completion of 60 credits. It includes the 48-credit core M.S. in ABA Program plus 4 additional courses focusing on preparation of behavior analysts as supervisors, managers, and small business leaders. This concentration would provide master-level BCBA® clinicians with broad, interdisciplinary supervisory skills as well as advanced education and training in OBM.

  BCBA® and BCBA-D® certificants are often responsible for the development and implementation of language/ communication programs while working with clients in schools, health care organizations, insurance-funded clinical organizations, privately run consultation services, and adult service organizations. It is critical, therefore, that graduates of ABA programs have knowledge of the prominent theories of language development, experience with a variety of applications that support the growth and development of language, and skills designing, implementing, and overseeing communication programs (including those utilizing AAC devices and systems). This certificate offers intensive instruction and supervised practice in this area for those seeking a BCBA® credential. This program and concentration requires completion of 60 credits. It includes the 48-credit core M.S. in ABA Program plus 4 additional courses focusing on language development, AAC, Relational Frame Theory, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  It is reported that over 70% of behavior analysts work primarily with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (, 2020). Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities are at least three times more likely than the general population to experience adverse life events including abuse and neglect (Berg, 2019; McDonnell,et al., 2019). Those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disorders affecting communication are at particular risk. By providing training in trauma-informed behavior analytic practice, future behavior analysts will be better prepared to collaborate as part of multidisciplinary teams to serve clients with backgrounds of traumatic experiences. This concentration offers instruction and supervised practice in this area for those seeking a BCBA® credential; the completion of 60 credits is required. It includes the 48-credit core M.S. in ABA Program plus 4 additional courses focusing on preparation of behavior analysts as members of multidisciplinary teams for clients with trauma backgrounds.
